Rain, Sleet, Snow or Hail

July 13, 2010

I did say hail and not hell. Get your mind right. lol

That’s when we must workout. Everyday we should make it a point to do something physical. It keeps our bones healthy, our blood flowing and our minds sharp. So during this little bit of rain we’ve been having, don’t let it get you down in the dumps and allow your arther (arthritis) to kick in. Moving just helps overall Boo! So….keep it moving.

Summer is Here and YOUR BODY is in!

July 6, 2010

Often times we are hesitant to hit the beach out of fear of “having to wear a bathing suit.” Have you ever noticed the real folks on the news during a segment being shown at the beach of REAL people (especially women) wearing bathing suits? And you say, “Well if she can wear that and on TV, then surely I can.” And you’re right. You absolutely can. You can feel good about where you are at this stage of your walk in life. You can feel good about where you are at this stage in your fitness walk. And yes, you can and should feel good when you put on that bathing suit. So go ahead and hit that beach, girl. Heaven knows you’ll look better than some on those news segments!

July 4th Holiday and Life is Good

July 2, 2010

Looking forward to the weekend. I seldom get a long one because as you may know, I work a lot. But I have to in order to continue bringing the best in fitness and health to those who believe in me. Hope you will join Eric, my staff and me as we venture on our first bike ride as a happy family. Yes, you are invited. Join us on Monday, July 4 at 10:00 AM at exit 23 off I77 North coming from Charlotte at the Harris Teeter. Eric and I will be ther waiting for about 15 minutes.  The type of bike doesn’t matter. We are just looking to enjoy the wind in our faces and the sun on our backs. Hit a comment if you intend to join us…Happy barbequeing!

Cycling is Hot!

May 18, 2010

Last Saturday Eric and I rode in our first official Cycle Ride. Well, I take that back. Our first one was 2 Fridays ago; the Mayor’s Ride that kicked off Bike! Charlotte for the next 16 days. That one doesn’t count in terms of the length of ride but it certainly counted in terms of us getting out there with hundreds of others and getting our feet (or our legs) wet. Anyway, we rode in the Cycle Charlotte ride last Saturday for 14 miles! It was the absolute BEST. Now since we are hooked again – we both rode in our much younger days – I am excited to assemble more N’shapers to wheel the pavement with us. We have already identified where you can get your bikes – just waiting on the discount level – as well as our next ride in June. My advise to you? Get ready as we did by riding in your  neighborhood, around the block a few times and add more times gradually. Get used to your seat (it hurt) and after a while it won’t hurt anymore. Once you build your stamina for riding and your tolerance for pain (on the seat) you’re ready for your first big ride too. I hope it’s in June with us!
